Good decisions begin with clear answers.
25 frequently asked questions about your options, the process and the details that matter before you enrol.
Getting started
What does Easy Settlement help with?
We help borrowers assess repayment difficulties, explore lender-approved settlement options, prepare documents and manage communication. The right approach depends on your debt, hardship and ability to fund a resolution.
Which debts can be reviewed?
Personal loans and credit-card dues can be assessed through our unsecured-debt service. Home loans, car loans and other secured debts need a separate personalised consultation because collateral and lender action require a different approach.
Is there a minimum debt amount?
Our unsecured settlement assessment is intended for total unsecured dues of ₹2 lakh or more. If your concern is a legal notice, recovery conduct or a secured loan, contact us for a separate review.
Can I speak to you if I currently have no income?
Yes. You can discuss your hardship with the team. Having no income does not itself mean a lender will approve settlement; the review must also consider a realistic source of funds and other available options.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes, the initial consultation is free. If you choose to engage us, ask for the service scope, fees, payment schedule and applicable terms in writing before enrolling.
What should I keep ready for the consultation?
Keep a lender-wise list of outstanding dues, recent statements, EMI amounts, income and essential expenses, and any notices you have received. Share documents only through channels confirmed by our team. Never share OTPs, passwords or card PINs.
Settlement & payments
Is settlement guaranteed?
No. Each lender decides whether to accept a settlement request. Approval, the amount and the timeline depend on lender policy, your circumstances, supporting documents and the funds available.
How much can I save through settlement?
There is no fixed discount that applies to every borrower. Any proposal must be assessed against your actual dues and approved in writing by the lender. A calculator or initial discussion is not a settlement offer.
How long does the process take?
There is no single timeline. Document collection, lender review, negotiations and payment arrangements vary by account. Ask the team to explain the expected stages and updates for your case.
Can you help if I have loans with several lenders?
Yes, multiple accounts can be reviewed together to understand your overall position. Each lender still makes its own decision and may issue separate terms, payment instructions and documents.
Should I stop paying EMIs after contacting you?
Do not treat contacting or engaging us as an instruction to stop payments. Missed payments can add charges, affect your credit record and lead to lender action. Discuss your circumstances and available alternatives before making a decision.
Are service fees included in the bank settlement amount?
Treat advisory fees and the amount payable to the lender as separate costs. Your written engagement terms should explain our fees; the lender’s written offer should explain the settlement amount and deadlines.
How can I make payments safely?
Pay Easy Settlement fees only through official payment links confirmed by the team, never anyone’s personal account. Make lender payments through the lender’s verified channels and retain receipts. Independently confirm any changed payment instructions.
What should I check before paying a settlement offer?
Obtain and verify the lender’s written offer. Check the account reference, agreed amount, deadlines, authorised payment channel, conditions and credit-reporting implications. After completing the terms, request the relevant confirmation or no-dues document.
Credit profile
Does loan settlement affect my CIBIL report?
Yes. When a lender accepts less than the full amount owed, it may report the account as settled. This can affect how future lenders assess you. Settlement should be considered with a clear understanding of this trade-off.
What is the difference between settled and closed?
Settled generally means the lender accepted less than the full amount due. Closed generally reflects full repayment. These statuses are different, and a settled account can be viewed less favourably by future lenders.
Can you guarantee a higher CIBIL score or remove an accurate entry?
No. We cannot guarantee a score increase, a future loan approval or deletion of accurate information. Reporting corrections require verification with the lender and credit bureau.
What can I do after settlement to rebuild my credit profile?
Keep your settlement papers and payment records, review your credit reports for errors, and raise any discrepancy with the lender and bureau. Manage remaining repayments on time and avoid taking on unaffordable new debt. Improvement varies by person.
Recovery conduct & notices
How does anti-harassment support work?
We help organise evidence, prepare written communication and assess appropriate escalation channels. This does not cancel a valid debt or guarantee that every recovery call will stop immediately.
What if recovery agents are threatening me or contacting my family?
Save relevant messages, call details and written complaints. RBI instructions prohibit intimidation, harassment and intrusion into the privacy of family members and friends by covered lenders and their agents. Ask for a case-specific review of the appropriate complaint route.
Should I ignore a bank, arbitration or cheque-bounce notice?
No. Keep the notice, envelope and delivery details, and seek prompt legal review. The response and deadline depend on the document and facts. Starting a settlement discussion does not automatically pause a notice or proceeding.
Does filing a complaint automatically waive my loan?
No. A complaint about recovery conduct and the repayment obligation are separate issues. Any settlement or revised repayment arrangement needs the lender’s agreement.
